Spatial-temporal Characteristics and Source Apportionment of Ambient VOCs in Southeast Mountain Area of China

Seasonal variations and sources of ambient volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were conducted at the county rural sites in a mountain area southeastern China. The results showed that pattern VOC concentrations was dominated by oxygenated VOCs (37.6%) alkanes (25.8%), followed halocarbons (16.8%), alkenes (11.9%), aromatics (6.87%), alkynes (1.04%). Based on OH radical loss rate (LOH) ozone formation potential (OFP) analysis, had highest chemical activity, especially contribution isoprene areas. Aromatics contributed most to secondary aerosols (SOA) both Source apportionment quantified positive matrix factorization (PMF) model, including industrial emissions combustion burning (30.1% 43.3% areas, respectively) vehicle exhausts (30.3% 10.8%), solvent usage (17.1% 5.2%), liquid petroleum gas (LPG) fuel evaporation (14.2% 10.0%), biogenic source (8.3% 30.6%). backward air trajectories mass spring mainly originated from intercity transmission, while clusters autumn came northern areas through long-range transport. study helpful understand pollution characteristics mountainous provides scientific basis for local O3 PM2.5 control.
